Now I dream of escaping the Buffalo NY USA heat and being able to enjoy the outdoors again. But I know there are plenty of other lucky ducks living in places where August is the best time to enjoy your patio. I was working on her patio design for a client, so I looked to RDK Hardscaping for inspiration and showed her around to see what style would float her boat.
What I love about this group of patios is the site plan. They show harmony between the house and its surroundings. Patios are often an important transition space between indoors and outdoors. You can see it from the inside, and you have to walk over it to get inside. All of these spaces not only provide a great transition experience from indoors to outdoors, but are also places to stop and enjoy.

This long L-shaped orange plant wall defines the patio and gives it all kinds of character. It’s also eye-catching and makes you forget you’re in a boring vent-type space. I recently stumbled upon this lake house and fell completely in love. This patio is a great example of a great overall site plan where the home and surroundings flow seamlessly into one another.
Outdoor fireplaces are a big trend in patio design right now. How great would it be to have s’mores with marshmallows and sticks after an al fresco meal here?

I really love outdoor showers, and this little patio connects the house and shower room perfectly. On the way home, you can rinse off and warm up a bit by the campfire.
